Seconds Sheepskin Rug Small
These dyed long-wool sheepskins are classified as seconds — made from British-reared lambs and tanned here in the UK. While they fall outside our standard specifications for size or colour, they offer the same natural softness and depth of texture as our regular rugs.
Grouped by hue, each rug may vary slightly in tone and fleece length. Most have no visible flaws at all; any minor imperfections may include light dye variations, tiny holes on the reverse, or slightly irregular shaping. These are priced accordingly.
The fleece is luxuriously soft and ranges from 4 cm to 9 cm in depth, depending on the individual skin. These pieces are perfect for layering across floors or furniture to add colour, warmth, and character.
Importantly, these sheepskins are a by-product of the UK food industry — sourced from farms that operate with care and integrity. Without careful selection and finishing by our local tannery, these beautiful natural materials would go to waste. By choosing a seconds rug, you’re helping to make use of what would otherwise be discarded.
- Size: Each sheepskin is unique. Lengths range from approximately 80–90 cm; widths from 45–60 cm
- Composition: 100% Natural Sheepskin
- Origin: Bred and tanned in the UK
Product Care
To clean, take it outside and give it a good shake and brush with our bamboo sheepskin brush. Brush regularly to help maintain and bring out the best in the wool fibres.
Spot cleaning is recommended, but can be carefully machine washed (subject to machine size) if needed at 30 °C on a wool programme using a wool-recommended detergent. Allow to dry naturally. Easy Sheepskin Care instructions are here.
