Eco Tanned Icelandic Shorn Sheepskin

Eco Tanned Icelandic Shorn Sheepskin

Our undyed shorn Icelandic sheepskins are simply amazing. In soft shades of creamy beige, natural white and pale grey, they complement any interior while adding a subtle touch of luxurious texture.

Each Icelandic sheepskin rug is entirely natural and therefore completely unique, with a shorn fleece that varies from 30-50 mm in length. Variations in colour, markings and fleece texture are part of their natural beauty, and the images on our website give an indication of the range you can expect.

Eco-tanned using non-chromium-based products that are kinder to the environment, the suede back is soft and supple, giving the hide a lovely fluid drape.

These sheepskins are the perfect home accessory, adding texture, warmth and comfort to any room. Style one as a throw on a sofa or chair, across the end of a bed or even outdoors on garden furniture.

Origin & Sustainability

These fabulous, naturally biodegradable sheepskins are made in the United Kingdom. Sourced as a by-product of meat production, they support family-run tanneries that help rural communities maintain their livelihoods and traditions. Each hide is eco-tanned in the UK using a blend of natural and synthetic tannins that are kinder to the environment.

The tanning process for these sheepskins avoids chrome, dyes or bleaches, ensuring every sheepskin is safe for you and your home. This process not only reduces environmental impact but also preserves the natural softness and durability of the fleece. The result is a product that is as sustainable as it is beautiful.
