Eco Tanned Icelandic Honeycomb Lava Large
These stunning large Icelandic sheepskins are truly incredible works of art. Completely natural and undyed, their deep chocolate brown fleeces are warmed by a burst of golden sun-kissed highlights across the body.
With a lustrous, longer-length top coat, they are sumptuous to the touch and add dramatic colouring, texture and comfort to any room in the house. Use as a throw on the sofa or chair, over the end of the bed, on garden furniture, or even on the floor as a striking rug. Timeless in style and made to last, these sheepskins add a classic touch to your home that withstands both changing trends and years of everyday use.
Icelandic sheepskins have a dual-layer fleece: a soft, dense undercoat (pel) and a long, flowing outer coat (tog), giving depth, movement, and incredible softness. Eco-tanned using non-chromium-based products that are kinder to the environment, the suede back is soft and supple, giving the entire hide a fluid drape.
As these sheepskins are entirely natural, every piece is unique in both colour and pattern. The example image shown has been gently fluffed with air to highlight its natural flow and variation — reminiscent of molten, bubbling lava.

Size: approx. 100 - 120 CM x 62 - 70 CM
- Composition: 100% Sheepskin
- Origin: Made in the United Kingdom

Avoid strong direct sunlight.
To clean, take it outside and give it a good shake and a gentle brush with our bamboo sheepskin brush. These sheepskins can be spot cleaned but they are not suitable for machine washing as the fleece fibres are likely to mat.
Origin & Sustainability
Sheepskin is a naturally biodegradable material, unlike many synthetic alternatives. These sheepskins are sourced from farms that do not practise mulesing (a method known to cause discomfort to sheep) and are tanned using an eco tanning method which reduces environmental harm by avoiding chromium-based products. Supporting local tanneries, this process preserves the natural qualities of the fleece while maintaining a low carbon footprint and reducing environmental impact.
Offcuts are repurposed wherever possible to minimise waste. Some are used by toy makers to craft soft, natural toys, supporting circular production practices.
