Eco Tanned British Rare-Breed Sheepskin Dark Tones

Eco Tanned British Rare-Breed Sheepskin Dark Tones

These undyed, naturally tanned British lambskins are sourced from farms across the British Isles and feature a sumptuously thick fleece and generous sizing. The colouring varies greatly — from soft creams to rich browns and deeper hues — reflecting the wide range of native British breeds. To help you find your preferred tone, we’ve grouped them as 'Light Tones' and 'Dark Tones'.

As this is a totally natural product, each rug is completely unique. Tanned using an environmentally friendly, non-chromium Eco Tanning process, the suede back is ultra-soft and fabulously supple, giving each piece a beautiful drape and fluid feel.

These rugs add classic country charm, texture and warmth to your home — perfect for styling a cosy interior or outdoor seating during dry spells.

  • Size: approx. 90–103+ × 55–68+ cm
  • Composition: 100% British lambskin
  • Origin: Sourced and eco-tanned in the UK

Product Care

Avoid prolonged exposure to strong direct sunlight.

To clean, take it outside and give it a good shake, then gently brush using our bamboo sheepskin brush. We recommend spot cleaning only — not suitable for machine washing.

For more guidance, see our Product Care page.

Origin & Sustainability

These sheepskins are sourced from British farms that do not practise mulesing (a method known to cause discomfort to sheep) and are tanned using an eco tanning method which reduces environmental harm by avoiding chromium-based products. Supporting UK agriculture and local tanneries, this process preserves the natural qualities of the fleece while maintaining a low carbon footprint and reducing environmental impact.

Offcuts are repurposed wherever possible to minimise waste. Some are used by toy makers to craft soft, natural toys, supporting circular production practices.
