Eco Tanned British Rare-Breed Sheepskin Light Tones

Eco Tanned British Rare-Breed Sheepskin Light Tones

These lighter-toned, undyed British lambskins are sourced from across the British Isles and are generously sized with a thick, sumptuously soft fleece. The colouring varies from rug to rug, reflecting the diverse breeds farmed across Britain. Each rug is completely unique, and while the images on our website offer a guide, no two pieces will ever be the same.

Thanks to the natural tanning process, the suede back is soft and supple, giving each sheepskin a lovely drape and fluid feel. To help you choose your preferred colourway, we have split these rugs into two categories based on tones. For darker shades, we recommend our Eco Tanned British Rare-Breed Sheepskin Dark Tones.

These sheepskins bring classic country style to your home, adding texture and comfort to any room. Their neutral colour palette complements any interior style and they are equally versatile for use on garden furniture. Eco-tanned using non-chromium-based methods with a low carbon footprint, they are an environmentally friendly choice as well as a luxurious one.

Product Care

Avoid strong direct sunlight and damp or wet conditions to protect the leather pelt. Brush regularly to maintain and revive the wool fibres. Small stains or light soiling can be gently spot cleaned with a damp cloth and diluted sheepskin shampoo such as Woolskin Premium Woolwash.

Allow to dry naturally. For more guidance, see our Product Care page.

Origin & Sustainability

These sheepskins are sourced from British farms that do not practise mulesing (a method known to cause discomfort to sheep) and are tanned using an eco tanning method which reduces environmental harm by avoiding chromium-based products. Supporting UK agriculture and local tanneries, this process preserves the natural qualities of the fleece while maintaining a low carbon footprint and reducing environmental impact.

Offcuts are repurposed wherever possible to minimise waste. Some are used by toy makers to craft soft, natural toys, supporting circular production practices.
